Welcome to the 2013 lacrosse season!  It is shaping up to be a very exciting season as we anticipate having almost 90 boys participating in the high school program again this year between our Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.    

As with every year, this is the most difficult request of the season – asking for your financial help to support the Duxbury High School program.  Duxbury is one of the very few programs in Massachusetts to field three teams each spring:  varsity, junior varsity and freshmen.  In addition, our varsity team will continue to play out of state competition traveling to play Fairfield Prep on April 19^th and Shoreham Wading River on April 20^th in addition to Niskayuna (NY) on April 27.  We will also be hosting Mercer Island (WA) and Garden City on April 2^th and April 6^th respectively.    This is a tradition that started years ago and one that we hope to continue for our players in the future – the opportunity to play some of the best competition in high school lacrosse in the East.  Also, the junior varsity team will be joining the varsity team in playing Fairfield Prep this season in a double header against one of the top programs in the state of Connecticut.

In addition, all three teams will play the “best of the best” in Massachusetts, including:  Billerica, Medfield, Lincoln Sudbury, Needham, Hingham and Thayer Academy as well as the Catholic Conference powers of  Xaverian and St. John’s Prep.  In addition to many of the teams mentioned above, the freshmen team will also face BC High, St Sebastians, Fessenden, and Belmont Hill.  In addition to making it possible for all our teams to play such outstanding and competitive schedules, the fundraising will also pay for the following:  team sweatshirts for the freshmen, shooters shirts and shorts for all teams, filming the junior varsity and freshmen games for highlight/recruiting purposes, coaches, travel, and food for visiting teams.  All the funds raised by the Duxbury Lacrosse Boosters Club support our three teams.  Quite frankly, without your contributions there simply would not be three lacrosse teams at DHS for the boys and the program would not be able to offer the boys the great on and off field experience they've been lucky enough to have over the years.
